hi all,

I'm sorry but I'm french, and if I understood almost everything, ther is something that looks interesting but I don't understand(I drive a Tigra A 1998 1.6l)

Quote:
I would also remove the tie bars, and file back the shoulder the washer sits against by half an inch or so. This will gain you some castor without overly stressing the bushes.

could explain that?

thanks wink

ill do a diagram of the tie bars later. Camber bolts are ok, but id just slot the strut. Id use that to correct the camber after winding on max castor with the topmounts. No idea on sears, any pics? Cant see how they would work!

you can measure camber easily enough. Castr is harder, but you wont ever end up with too much on the standard components. Just fit the topmounts and wind them fully back, then correct the camber with the bolts.

For the rear, get the geometry checked, and then you can work out what thickness you need to add.

Have just spoken to spax and they have some 343lb front springs. are these suitable for what i am after?

they said that these springs would just be a straight swap and no machining of the suspension cup, does this sound right??

for my own reference the spax part number on these springs is: R200-60-61ID

cheers

currently we now have an ATB diff
next purchase will be polybushes and springs hopefully
then only messing with the camber and castot settings. Thumbs Up

Are 343lb springs ok for xe? i got told to use around 300-310?

Did you get a price for those springs Rich?

Are they the standard length? I heard they do some shorter springs, which is what i was after due to the seat platform being uncomfortably close to the tyre.

Im not to sure come to think of it Confused say it was 400kg. then thats 200kg each side. 200kg is 440 lbs.

Now ive thought about it. Im not too sure how to work out what you need.

LOL

Thanks for that.

PMSL

Wasnt sure if it was the weight the springs have to carry, or if there is some sort of complicated equation, just seems people say, yeh, you need 300lb springs.

Confused
