Big power, sticky tyres, no neons, and suspension harder than multiplying in roman numerals
So what are we going to do about that mighty fiat coupe?

The power advantage of that coupe really showed up on the handling track at TOTB.

LET powered nova or corsa for the win? or just olly's car with more time put into the nitrous side of things to allow him to run more gas?

Whats the answer?

fiat coupe handling Confused

They have the same front end set up as an Alfa GTV but with a solid rear beam, the properly sorted ones (so probably this one) swap the rear set up off a GTV V6 so end up with a fully rose jointed multi link rear, plus the 20v's had a diff as standard

Any info on the said car?

Hi Chip

Think i only saw you once yesterday, but you looked quite busy, so wasn't going to interupt you.

As for Nigel's car, i'm not sure of the complete setup, but is something as follows :

400bhp / 400lbs (2bar mid-range)
Rear suspension is still coupe, not GTV based
Upper and lower front strut brace
Bilstiens dampers not sure on the springs (no coilovers)
Track tyres.

That's it. I'll send this link to him, so no doubt he will post on here, but yes, the car he uses every day for work and is currently on 191k clap

Hello mate, shame you didnt say Hi, I didnt notice you there or would have come over.

Fair play to Nigel, he has set the bar high, but we WILL make things hard for him next year ;)

Was a real shame not to see more coupe's there, especially the Owen's mapped one with 600bhp+ that really should have been up there with the tigra over the 1KM run, you guys need to get re-motivated and back in the game I reckon, it was always good competition for us in the past, we were the only "proper" team there in FWD this year, and the event is going to get boring if it keeps being so vauxhall dominated!

I spoke to Nigel over at the redline tent, and made no bones about how impressed I was with his car, so give him my congratulations on his well deserved win Big Grin

The Owens Mapped car is up for sale and has been for the past few months, so that won't be taking part again, unless the new owner decides he wants to run it, but as for other cars, well, no one seems to be interested anymore, or no one can get the 1/4 mile time required to get qualified, so always ends up being the same few peeps.

The maroon one, had big issues, his diff went on sat am, got the car over to a specialist in brum (car was in brizzle!) diff replaced and off again. It was noted his paddle clutch was low and after 2 runs and 1 handling, the clutch had it and had to be transported back home, shame, as his second run he got a 13.0 @ 105mph and that was because he was coasting over the line and couldn't get it into 4th.

Hopefully i'll be running and out to play next year and handling setup is a bit more advanced than Nigels smile

Would be nice to have some proper competition from you guys again.

The last 3 years its just been vauxhall dominated all the way really, and it must get dull for the crowds like that, lol

Still Nigel certainly gave them some variety, top top competitor, got so much respect for him, as im sure most of our boys have!

That Nigel chap can push a car...very very impressive time especially looking at that rough spec!

I personally think that Twitchell's car would decimate it though!

That sounds great, but I suspect getting a date that suits all could be a headache.

Maybe some cross posting with latest times and team developments could spur on a bit of friendly competition though?

I dont think ANYTHNG we are building currently is going to "decimate" it, Nigel is too fast for that, but I certainly think Rob's should be competitive against it Big Grin

OK, maybe decimate wasn't the right word - but I think that Rob would take the handling circuit unless any other super competitors crop up in the next year!
